Findus was first created in 1941 - by a small Swedish company called Marabou. The name Findus derived from the industry in which Marabou then operated - Fruit Industries.
Findus first came to the UK market in 1956 and was responsible for a number of exciting frozen innovations. These have included pioneering ideas such as French Bread Pizza and in 1972 the creation of the UK’s very first frozen lasagne and the invention of our famous Findus Crispy Pancakes!
This year we have entered an exciting new phase as part of the wider Findus family in Europe. In April 2009 an agreement was reached which means that Findus in the UK is now part of the Findus Group, which in Britain also includes Young’s Seafood and The Seafood Company, as well as Findus in Scandinavia and France.
